Typical lesions I treat include:
- Lipomas (benign fatty lumps)
- Sebaceous and epidermal cysts
- Lymph node biopsy or removal
- Moles (for diagnosis or irritation)
- Skin cancers
- Abscess drainage
Most minor procedures are completed in around 30–45 minutes.
- Local anaesthetic is used to numb the area — this may sting briefly but quickly takes effect
- You’ll remain awake and comfortable throughout
- You can usually drive yourself to and from the appointment
After removal, the wound is carefully closed using either dissolvable stitches (under the skin) or removable stitches, depending on the area and cosmetic considerations.
Stitches are typically removed after 7–14 days, depending on the site.
Every effort is made to achieve the best possible cosmetic result through careful incision placement, fine suturing, and personalised advice for aftercare.
All surgical incisions heal by forming a scar — “scarless surgery” is not possible — but good technique and proper aftercare make a significant difference.
Important points to know:
- Scars fade gradually and take up to a year to reach their best appearance.
- Certain body areas and skin types may be more prone to noticeable scarring.
- I’ll provide detailed aftercare instructions to support optimal healing.
If you have a lump, cyst, or skin lesion you’d like assessed or removed, I’ll discuss the safest and most effective treatment options for you.
